About us
Meetings
- We meet every Monday evening from 9:00 - 10:00 P.M in the pool of the Scarborough Centennial Recreation Centre located at 1967 Ellesmere Rd. (Markham Rd./ Ellesmere Rd.).
- We hold monthly member meetings (usually every 2nd Monday of each month - Summer months excepted because we are busy diving!) also held at the Scarborough Centennial Recreation Centre. We are happy to have a very active and involved membership.

Our Dive Season - We offer a planned Dive Package each dive season - visiting some of the better diving locations that Ontario has to offer. - We Dive in quarries, lakes and rivers all over Ontario, (sometimes we even venture a little further  - down into New York State etc... Ontario is blessed to have an abundance of world class ship wrecks. These wrecks are often in pristine condition offering the diver a chance to go back into history.

Safety - On all of our dives we have at least one Dive Master present. Along                                           with that, we dive with a high level of focus towards Safety Consciousness. On                                         all of our Club Dives we have our own Club Oxygen Kit ready should the                                                 need arise. We also have our own Club Defibrillator, and a fully stocked First                                            Aid Kit which are also on all of our Club dives.

Ontario Underwater Council - We are a Club Member in Good Standing and strong supporters of the Ontario Underwater Council (O.U.C). All of our Club dives / training activities are covered under our insurance policy with the O.U.C.

Training  - It has been our mandate since the club's inception back in 1961 to promote the sport of Scuba Diving with training programs to introduce new people to the sport in a safe, sound, and fun manner. We are very proud of our long and successful record of living up to this standard set by our founding members.
We have a long association with PADI, a world recognized dive training organization. With this accreditation, you will be able to dive with Dive operators world wide unencumbered. Today led by our Training Director  - PADI "Master Scuba Diver Trainer" - Kari MacChesney - we offer the following training courses: "Basic Open Water Diver";                                     "Advanced Open Water"; "Rescue Diver";  "Dive Master"; also "Instructor".                                               Beyond those you can take a number of specialty courses such as                                                       Wreck Diver; Deep Diver; Night Diver; Drift Diver;  or perhaps even                                                        Ice Diver, plus many others.
-  We have the good fortune of having many well qualified Instructors and Dive Masters as members of our club. This allows us to offer many courses, often below the cost and in more depth than you can get at commercial operations.

Travel - We travel throughout the year. Often, we have group organized dive trips to many locations in far off, warmer climes such as Roatan; San Andres Colombia; Curacao; Cozumel etc...

Our Members - Starting out as a New Diver in Training can be stressful. As part of our training courses our members volunteer in many manners. Everyone works very hard to ensure that our students are made to feel welcome, at ease and are offered answers to their many questions. We all were new divers at one time as well and we keep our experiences in mind to know what our students are feeling. It may sound a little corny but we definitely have a Family feel in our club.

Member Benefits - We have close associations with many commercial dive operators / stores and can often get special "Club Pricing" on many items to save you money.
- We meet every week at the pool in the Centennial Recreation Centre in Scarborough - from 9:00 - 10:00 P.M. As part of your membership you can do lane swims during this time, check out new dive gear (as long as you are certified and have arranged for a certified buddy to dive with). We also play games such as Underwater Hockey or S.U.C.I Ball, (this is a very energetic game) and we have lots of fun!

Other Activities - We are proud participants  / (co) organizers of the annual Ice Floe Race in the Otanabee River just outside of Peterborough, Ontario.  May sound a little crazy! It looks and feels even crazier to be out in the middle of a river with a group of other divers pushing a piece of Ice Floe for about two kilometres! A lot of fun!!

Community Involvement - We are not just about diving. We believe in being leaders in our community.  We actively support and participate in events such as Community Clean-Up and Dive for a Cure.  We also have a long association with Daily Bread Foodbank for which we collect donations at many of our club activities.
